Create your eHealth certificate

The eHealth certificate lets Synkro use MyCareNet on your behalf, for example to check your patients’ health insurance. You create it once, with your identity card, using eHealth’s official program, which we have made ready to open.

Already have an eHealth certificate?

If your current software already uses MyCareNet, you have one. Keep it and upload that same file to Synkro. Do not create a second one without a reason: your current software could stop working.

Get your identity card ready

Install the Belgian government’s official eID software, plug in your card reader and insert your card.

Follow eHealth’s screens

Start the registration process, choose a certificate for a natural person, enter your PIN, then choose a password for your certificate. Write it down straight away: it cannot be recovered.

Opening it for the first time

  • Mac: open the .dmg file, drag the app into Applications, then open it. macOS asks for confirmation the first time: the app is signed and checked by Apple. On a Mac with Apple silicon, if Rosetta is offered, accept it.
  • Windows: run the installer. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info then Run anyway. The “Synkro – Certificat eHealth” shortcut then appears in the Start menu.

Once you have retrieved the certificate, open Synkro: Settings › eHealth certificate, then upload the .p12 file (usually in the ehealth › keystore folder of your home folder) with its password.

If something goes wrong

  • The tool does not open or closes on start-up: that’s on us. Email us at contact@synkroclinic.com or call +32 497 32 27 80.
  • “Error while signing with the eID”: remove and reinsert the card, close eID Viewer if it is open, and restart the tool. If it persists, contact us (contact@synkroclinic.com, +32 497 32 27 80).
  • “Your authorisation could not be confirmed”: eHealth does not yet know you as a physiotherapist. Only eHealth can fix this: 02 788 51 55.
  • Requesting and retrieving the certificate happen on the same computer. eHealth may take a little time to issue the certificate.
